We are thrilled to have Greek winemaker, Christos Zafeirakis join us in London from 28th May to take part in the 50 Great Greek Wines Walk Around Tasting as well as customer visits and tastings. Christos’ family have lived in Tirnavos, by the foothills of Mount Olympus in Central Greece for numerous generations. Over 100 years. He bottled his first wines in 2005, and established the new winery in 2012. In 2018 he redeveloped and increased size. is best-known in Greece for his work resurrecting a wonderful grape variety; Limniona, and it is interest in this which first led us to visit him.
The Walk Around Tasting event on 29th May will feature wines listed in the 50 GGW | The List, with producers able to present up to 4 different labels from their portfolio (including award-winning wines).
Just a day prior, on Tuesday, May 28th, Stefan Neumann MS and Yiannis Karakasis MW will engage the London market with a Masterclass for 35-40 individuals, featuring 12 labels from this year’s 50 GGW list.
The trio of May events in London will conclude with a collaboration with the restaurant Ekstedt at the Yard by Michelin-starred chef Niklas Ekstedt, where on the evening of May 29th, a food and wine-pairing dinner will take place for approximately 40 high-profile London consumers. Wine selection for this event will align with the restaurant’s seasonal menu, under the supervision of the Executive Sommelier, Klearchos Kanelakis.
